What personal data we do collect and why
Comments
When a visitor leaves a comment on the website, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the string of the browser user agent, to easily detect spam.
It is possible that an anonymised string created from your email address (also called “hash”) has been submitted to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload an image to the website, you should avoid uploading images that have built-in location information (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download them and extract any location information from images on the website.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our website, you can choose to store your name, email address and website in cookies. Such option makes it easier for you to leave additional comments, so you do not have to re-enter this information. These cookies expire after one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal data and is deleted when you turn off your browser.
When you sign in, we will set several cookies to save your login details and your screen settings. Login cookies expire after two days, and display settings cookies after one year. If you select “Remember me”, your access will last two weeks. If you log out of your account, your login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored to your browser. This cookie does not contain personal information and only indicates the publication ID of the article you just edited. This cookie expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this website may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, and similar). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if a visitor had visited that other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, have built-in additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to the website.

With whom we share your data?
How long do we store your data?
If you write a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored forever. This is so that we can automatically recognize and approve future comments, instead of keeping them waiting for approval.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store personal data they provide in their user profiles. All users may view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (but they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights do you have over your data?
If you have opened an account on this website, or if you have posted a comment, you may request to receive an export file of personal data we hold about you, including any information you have provided to us. You may also request the erasure of any personal information we hold about you. This does not include any information we are required to hold for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where do we send your data?
Visitors’ comments can be checked through an automated spam detection service.
